Aiken Community Playhouse Filling Time Capsule to Honor 65th Anniversary

Aiken Community Playhouse is seeking donations of items to seal within a time capsule to commemorate the theater’s 65th anniversary season.

The time capsule will be opened in 35 years to mark ACP’s 100th anniversary.

“We are currently soliciting ideas of what the capsule should contain. If you have, and are willing to donate, something that will impress people in the year 2052, call us and let us know what it is,” said ACP Marketing Director Maureen Woltermann. “We will make a final decision and collect the items for sealing within the time capsule at a ceremony on Aug. 26.”

The time capsule is cylindrical with a 6-inch diameter and 24-inch length. Items donated must fit within the capsule.

Once sealed, the capsule will be buried within ACP.

To suggest an item, call the ACP box office at 803-648-1438. Though ACP is open to all suggestions, items related to the theater are especially desirable.
