Hemrick “Hink” Nathan Salley, Jr. 80th birthday | Scene Around Town

Hemrick “Hink” Nathan Salley, Jr. (pictured above wear his 100-year-old good luck tie that belonged to his father) celebrated his 80th birthday at the First Baptist Church of Aiken on September 27th. Friends and family hosted a drop-in.

Hink is from Salley, South Carolina, where he still lives. He was born in the old Aiken County Hospital, the son of Hemrick Nathan Salley, Sr. and Ena Boylston Salley. His parents were married for 72 years and died within a year of each other. Longevity runs in his family, Ena died at 96 3⁄4 while Hink Sr. died at 101 1⁄2.
